Protein structures by spallation neutron crystallography
The Protein Crystallography Station at Los Alamos Neutron Science Center is a high-performance beamline that forms the core of a capability for neutron macromolecular structure and function determination. This capability also includes the Macromolecular Neutron Crystallography (MNC) consortium between Los Alamos (LANL) and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratories for developing computational too...
متن کامل 12 Lecture 12 - 17 ( Notes : K . Venkatram ) 12 . 1 Generalized Complex Structures and Topological Obstructions
Definition 19. A generalized complex structure (GCS) on E is an integrable orthogonal complex structure J : E E, i.e. a map s.t. → • JA, JB = A,B • L = Ker (J − i1) Note. 1. JA,B = JA, JB = −A, JB, and thus J·, · is a symplectic struction on E compatible with , . 2. L is maximal isotropic and so is L, and thus E = L ⊕ L = L ⊕ L∗ and we get a Lie bialgebroid. 3. V must be even dime...
متن کاملUvrD limits the number and intensities of RecA-green fluorescent protein structures in Escherichia coli K-12.
RecA is important for recombination, DNA repair, and SOS induction. In Escherichia coli, RecBCD, RecFOR, and RecJQ prepare DNA substrates onto which RecA binds. UvrD is a 3'-to-5' helicase that participates in methyl-directed mismatch repair and nucleotide excision repair. uvrD deletion mutants are sensitive to UV irradiation, hypermutable, and hyper-rec. In vitro, UvrD can dissociate RecA from...
متن کاملProtein dynamical transition at 110 K.
Proteins are known to undergo a dynamical transition at around 200 K but the underlying mechanism, physical origin, and relationship to water are controversial. Here we report an observation of a protein dynamical transition as low as 110 K. This unexpected protein dynamical transition precisely correlated with the cryogenic phase transition of water from a high-density amorphous to a low-densi...
متن کاملCompletely separating systems of k-sets for (k-12) ≤ n < (k2) or 11 ≤ k ≤ 12
Here R(n, k) denotes the minimum possible size of a completely separating system C on [n] with |A| = k for each A ∈ C. Values of R(n, k) are determined for ( k−1 2 ) ≤ n < (k 2 ) or 11 ≤ n ≤ 12. Using the dual interpretation of completely separating systems as antichains, this paper provides corresponding results for dual k-regular antichains.
